Its management and systems were overwhelmed by the strain of operating multiple plants. Inherent problems in the company's business model and systems were thrust into the spotlight as the company struggled to fill its new capacity. The company enlisted the aid of the Executive Sounding Board to help rein in an infrastructure that had spiraled out of control, and to set a course to increase its margins, profits, and cash flow and return to the prosperity it had previously known. A company in crisis can be successfully managed from the brink and the depths of despair, back to productivity and prosperity, in a short time. It's not easy, but it can be accomplished. This article is a case study of just such a situation.TOPICS: Private equity, performance measurement, portfolio construction, analysis of individual factors/risk premia ER -
