Findings are based on data sourced from Venture Intelligence Database, with a sample of 573 VC/PE investment transactions in the Indian infrastructure sector announced during the 2004–2015 period. VC/PE funds are more inclined to invest at late stages of development to counter the risks of uncertainty and information asymmetry prevalent in the infrastructure projects. The article also indicates that VC/PE funds differ in terms of their stages of investment on the basis of investor type, number of investors in a deal, and subsector of investment.TOPICS: Private equity, emerging, other real assets, statistical methods ER -
