AB Electronic content, commerce, and connectivity are finding a new player in their midst: e-healthcare. From payers and providers of healthcare products and services, to companies specializing in information systems, participants in this sector are eager to mine the Internet for the wealth of opportunity that it represents. Companies take various approaches to their cyber-explorations, developing both vertical and horizontal strategies, sometimes expanding from a traditional base to a web presence, often joining forces with a nimble start-up to gain quick strategic advantage. Investors have much to gain by reviewing the recent moves that have shaken up the e- healthcare landscape.
