AB  - This study estimates the number of technology companies fromed by Stanford graduates and faculty in the San Francisco Bay Area. It finds that 9% of all graduates (and about 22% of technical graduates and a similar fraction of science and technology faculty) have formed high-tech companies, with about 1,900 companies currently active. Those companies employ 138,000 people locally, approximately 37% of local high-tech employment.
